Assassin’s Creed Shadows Brings New Life to Open-World Experience with New Activities

Assassin's Creed Shadows Enriches Open World with Innovative Activities

Ubisoft’s latest title brings refreshing themes into their hallmark open-world formula. The latest showcase reveals how Assassin’s Creed Shadows will integrate the classic gameplay with genuine Japanese activities.

Dual Protagonist Experience

Players take on the identities of two different individuals: Naoe and Yasuke. Each has their special activities to fill out the gameplay beyond fighting and quests.

Yasuke learns Kata through special training sessions. Those lessons unlock very powerful combat moves. Meanwhile, Naoe explores her past through Kuji-kiri meditation sessions.

Art and Culture

A new unexpected addition allows the player to stop their assassin mission. Both characters can create art to appreciate the beauty of feudal Japan. This activity is a break from the action-packed missions as it is refreshing.

Improved Scout System

The redesigned scout system changes exploration. These companions all have different purposes for your travels:

  • They help point out points of interest across the large map
  • Execute subtle raids on enemy strongholds
  • Help customize safe houses with gathered resources
  • Provide assistance in clearing unwanted attention

The classic view system is returning with improvements. A new 360-degree observe function helps locate distant locations from high points. These locations provide fast travel, but some of the points are located in unsafe areas.

The new pathfinder system allows the player to navigate on horseback. Similar to modern gaming systems, it helps the player to stay on course for their destination.

Release Information

Mark 20th March. Assassin’s Creed Shadows is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Although rumors about Nintendo Switch 2 are surfacing, Ubisoft has not made any official announcement.
