News about Overwatch just dropped, and it is sure to thrill fans. The homecoming of the popular 6v6 format has been confirmed through Blizzard about Overwatch 2. At first, the event was expected to be released during Season 14, which is due to go live on December 10.

Two-Phase Testing Approach

Phase One: Flexible Role Queue

From its first week of Season 14, players will discover a renewed version of the good old 6v6. The new system implements the following key changes:

  • Minimum of one hero per role: Tank, DPS, Support
  • Maximum three heroes per role
  • Flexible team composition for remaining slots
  • Enhanced strategic possibilities while maintaining team balance

Phase Two: Modern Evolution

This will be the mid-season update with a refined version of 6v6.

  • Hero reworks to Overwatch 2

New 5v5 Variations
